A scene used to run until somebody decided it had gone on long enough. Now it has a direction you set: what it moves toward, and the condition under which it counts as played out. How it actually ends is still up to the game.

  • A condition, not a script — "spar until the first clean hit" sets the boundary, not the winner

  • An ending by fact — the arbiter checks every turn whether the resolution has arrived, and closes the scene itself

  • NPCs act — no more hanging back: your rival will not stand through a fight without throwing a single strike

  • Results from the resolution — the debrief is written from how it all ended, with the "Best moment" right inside the notification

  • Disputes reach the numbers — the arbiter's verdict now moves the values, and a refusal is explained in plain words

The scene no longer hangs in the air. You set where it goes; the players decide how they get there.
